Meet Henry Gooding

When Isaiah my 7yr old was 3 he became fascinated with the telephone, (as is usual with three year olds). He would pick up the phone and have imaginary conversations. It was during one of these 'conversations' that my husband and I met Mr Henry Gooding.

Kieth and I would sit and listen as he conversed on the phone and the conversations always ended with Isaiah saying 'ok goodbye' and then he hung up.

This went on for a few weeks until one day we decided to ask for fun who was it he was speaking with, knowing fully well that there was no one on the other line.

To our surprise he replied Henry Gooding. That was strange, we thought we knew no one by that name and he did not have a toy with that name either, we racked our brains trying to think of where he could have gotten that name, to give to his imaginary friend on the telephone!

A few days later he again picked up the phone and started his 'conversation' , this time I listened for him to end the conversation in the usual manner by saying 'ok goodbye', just before he hung up I asked to speak to Henry Gooding, he gave me the phone.

On the line I could hear the operator saying the usual 'please hang up and try your call again this is a recording' It clicked immediately and i started laughing hysterically 'a recording' was Henry Gooding!!

That was more than four years ago but it is still funny to Keith and me up to this day!!

Just a little walk down memory lane, lest i forget!

Aww, don't you just want to bottle those memnories?

Jordan used to call the seven dwarfs The Dig Digs. That stuck and now we all say it.

LOL! That was so cute! "Out of the mouths of babes!" :) When my niece (who is now 27) was 2 yrs old, she kept telling me she wanted "Judy Arrages" for christmas. (It was a Doll) I went around to all of the Toy Stores asking for "Judy Arrages" and no one heard of it! A few weeks after my intense search for the Doll that did not exsist... my niece and I were watching TV. She pointed to the TV and started singing... "Dem... Judy Arrages..." LOL... The real "Adult" words were "JEM.. Truly Outrageous". (LOL) Finally... I went and got her JEM Doll... :) I love those memories!

Hey, Thanks for your input! I love all of the lamps...

Hugs,
Donna

Raquel, This was so cute. It reminded me of something that my daughter said when she was little. Such fond memories!

Ditto to what Penny said! I hate typing in those darn letters before leaving a comment.

That is the greatest thing I have ever heard. I LOVE that!!!

Last year, hubby and I went to Miami for the day and were telling the girls that they were going to go stay with their grandparents while we went to Miami. When we came home, Julia asked if we had fun in "Your Ami?" I could not understand what she was saying and she kept saying "your ami." We finally figured out she thought we were refering to it as "My Ami". We laughed so hard at that. She knows now that Miami is a city but she still says Your Ami because she knows it makes us laugh.

LOL!! Lisa! My Ami! the exact thing happened with gabbi, there is a beach called Myaro (pronounced my arrow) and gabby calls 'the arrow'!

How cute is that, and what a memory to have for ever, My grand daughter Libby does the same thing, only with my old cell phone, she sounds like she is really talking to some one. Thanks for sharing your lovely memory.

Hi, everyone!! I thought that I had Justine's e-mail address but now I can't find it! anyway, Suzanne asked that I let everyone know that she's not able to connect yet to the Internet at the hospital, but she wanted you to know that Mike came through the surgery okay, though he's in a lot of pain. I'm going up to the hospital tomorrow and will take her goodies (like wine, which she specifically requested!). She's fine but she sounds tired. anyway, please contact me and I will be happy to pass on any messages. I'm going to kidnap her tomorrow for a couple of hours at least and take her to lunch, maybe bring her home if she wants to for a shower or whatnot. If anyone has anything special that they would like me to include in her "hospital survival kit," please give me your suggestions! all I know for sure right now that I'm taking to her is wine and a couple of National Enquirers! that should keep her busy for a while! My e-mail address is janetkat1@yahoo. com....

She didn't want anyone worrying. On her behalf, thank you guys so much for your thoughts and your prayers. I know she appreciates it very much, and so do I.
