Feliz Navidad

Christmas is over, the new year is here! What better time to share my sparsely decorated home! I wanted to do so much for Christmas! Then I rememberd my budget so, instead of getting all depressed i sucked it up and used what I had! I want to share a few pics of my humble abode at Christmas time, and my super bright house exterior as well, so here goes,

this first pic has nothing to do with my home or this blog, i put it in simply to ann0y,.................................... moving on

This is the view as you enter my front door from the porch, the mirror i got this year and the large vase, my tree is still in need of ornaments but those are all I got!

Look to your left and there's my dining room, Christmas decor is limited to the table, I like my white chair covers, although they look super-white here, they are actually cream.

a close up of my dining center piece, I cleared the top of my hutch after I took the pics but was waaay to lazy to retake the photos

Ok I took another pic after I cleared it (see?, I'm not THAT lazy!)Here I am heading over to my sister's house for lunch on Boxing day!

and now as promised, get your sunglasses ready

here it comes!

the bright

super bright

brightest house on the block!

So it' s a new year today! are your Christmas decorations still up? Mine is, we celebrate waaay until the 6th of Jan, so as we say Feliz Navidad!

FOR GAIL!

Gail (you know Gail, the chick from England) was wondering what were the colorful items at the top shelf of the hutch in my dining room, so I took them out and placed them on the dining table, they are patio glasses I bought about two years ago and never used! so I'm going to start using them, I bought a cute patio table and chairs and I'll place them there and have a drink with the family soon!

Here's three of them on another table in the living room

So now you know Gail! lol!!

Happy New Year Raxx - hope 2009 is wonderful to you and your family.

I like the minimilist decoration thing but until I get rid of the kids I'm stuck with Santa's grotto as a theme!

btw what do you have on the top shelf of your 'hutch'?(you call that dresser a hutch???? that's what rabbits live in over here LOL)
it looks like some pretty colourful ornaments?
You shouldn't let us nosey parkers see inside your house, we can spot a speck of dust of that 'thing' you didn't want any of us to see a mile away!

Your chair covers look lovely too.

I love the color too, and the house looks great, just remove the decoration from that beautiful mirror, geez

Oooooh, now I didn't expect pretty glasses! But they look very nice up there - although I'm thinking a nice Extra Dry Vermouth and Lemonade on a sunny patio would be nicer - cheers!

Thank you for going to the effort of taking a picture of them for me - your family must think you're a fruit cake!

Hey Raxx - the table came from overstock.com. If you google it and then search "sofa table" its the first one that comes up - I saw one almost exactly the same in Pottery Barn for $400!! Just in case your that interested!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR RAXX and to that handsome hubby of yours! May you and your family also have a healthy and prosperous year ahead.

Oh yes, love the new colour of your home and psssst; we Canadians call it a hutch too. It is the British influence, and I bet you spell colour with an U...smiles. (Americans do not.)

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND. Many hugs

Hi Raxx, Happy New Year. I don't know what has happened, but once AGAIN, I didn't have you updated on my blog. Anyway, I love what you have done to your house and your dining set is beautiful. Love the chairs :)... You ask what we were doing this year and I think were going to leave around May and do the Atlantic coast, Washington DC, then NC and northern GA until November. In the RV, of course.

Love Ya,
Chris

Hi Mrs Ben, I know the British influence is strong, at least for me and other kids of the seventies! Nowadays that is fading though, microsoft keeps correcting 'colour' with 'color' and 'programme' with 'program' among others!

Raxx, thanks for the tour. I like you dining room table top.

Dang girl, you are so pretty next to your tree. You really do have a georgous smile. I sure wish I were your size again too. :-)

The color outside your home isn't that bright to me. I love it, and I love your windows and shutters too. Great job girl.

Something I saw that I think I might copycat from you is the wreath laying on the sofa table with the candles. What a great idea.

Feliz Navidad and New Year Hugs,
Penny

Good day to you Raquel,

I hope today brings a smile and warm feelings of accomplishments......

I was directed to your blog website by your sister Nina-Mae (friend of mine) to see part of your house seeing I was asking her questions on how nice houses looked in TT.

WOW!! Would be the first words that come to mine for the entire content of your Blog site . There is a lot of hard work & time that went into that site and in your house .Your home or part of what I saw seems gorgeous inside & out and you have the space to make your outdoor project a complete success. I had house prior and a big yard and made it a sucess. You also have a lovely family. You and your sister Denise look awesome in pic.I plan to visit your country this year and will be looking forward to meeting Nina family.

May the sunshine in your body warm your soul and your smile warm others.

Peace N Much love always...Terry
